We are pleased to announce that the Institute
is able to offer internships to students as Research Associates.
Student interns will assist with the following:
1.Gathering research data for the Global
Studies Institute Director and for faculty members who have
been awarded research grants.
2.Assisting with the planning of the International
Conference, "The Caribbean and Latin America in the 21st
Century: Problems and Solutions."
3.Gathering research and demographic data
for the Institute.
4.Assisting the director with looking for
requests for proposals, collecting data to be included in
proposals, and some library research.
5.Each student intern will be expected to
develop a research interest in Latin America or the Caribbean.
Interested students should submit a letter
of interest and resume to the Director of the Global Studies
Institute in Room 360, Dickey Hall.
Students who worked as research associates
during the summer of 2000 were: Ethel Adu, Sharon Bollers,
Tamara Hall, Andrew Johnson, Leonia Johnson, Giana Lawrence,
Stella Odili, and Dana Thorpe.
