Arts
The English Liberal Arts major is a traditional English major
with an emphasis upon the study of English and American literature and language.
It allows some room for students to pursue individual interests through major
electives and university electives.
The Liberal Arts major prepares students for graduate study in
English. It is also appropriate for students interested in a broad liberal
education. The major is popular with pre-law students.
A student desiring to major in English Liberal Arts must have
written approval of the English Department. Completion of fourteen (14) semester
courses in English and four semesters of a foreign language (in addition
to the humanities core requirement) is required.
