Tomorrow's Teachers Today: Striving for Excellence
Mission Statement
The mission of the Early Childhood Education (ECEd) program at Lincoln University is to prepare students to become highly qualified ECEd professionals in order to teach in the surrounding and urban school settings. The goals of the program are to (1) understand development, cognition, and learning for children from birth to age 9, (2) master subject matter content and pedagogy for PK-4, (3) understand and administer assessment tools: PK-4, (4) develop the ability to establish family and community collaboration partnerships: PK-4, (5) be aware of professionalism required to serve in PK-4 learning environments, and (6) acquire knowledge about adaptations and accommodations for diverse learners, including English Language Learners, in inclusive settings. It is our mission to provide students with the opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge and disposition in order to have the background skills and interest to attend graduate school.
