Assessment of Support/Administrative Units

Academic Support Services at Lincoln University provide substantive and positive contributions to student persistence and success. As such, the assessment of academic student support is a critical element of the student learning assessment process and campus wide achievement of student learning outcomes.  Standard III stresses the importance of evaluation support and administrative to determine their effectiveness in enhancing retention and supporting students throughout their educational experience.  This includes periodic assessment of the effectiveness of assessment processes utilized by the institution for the improvement of educational effectiveness (MSCHE, 2014).

Support/Administrative Unit Assessment Committee

The Support Unit Assessment Committee works to support academic support and administrative units in conducting effective and meaningful assessment of their respective programs, services and offices. Functions of the Committee include:  

  • Establishing, reviewing and updating policies and guidelines related to support unit assessment
  • Communicating assessment expectations and results to faculty and staff
  • Providing constructive feedback on support unit assessment plans
  • Provide support to academic support and administrative unit review processes
  • Provide recommendations for enhancing and improving support unit assessment
  • Facilitating university wide discussion of assessment results for improvement 
  • Maintain awareness of support unit assessment best practices and communicate them to staff and faculty as appropriate 
  • Provide results of unit assessment of support programs and services to faculty and Deans as needed

The Support Unit Assessment Committee comprises of representatives from selected support and administrative units across campus. Standing members include the Director of Assessment & Accreditation, Director of Institutional Research.
