Alumni Magazine - Spring 2018

The Lincoln University magazine is a biannual publication that highlights interesting stories about alumni, campus events, and programs & services.  It also features recurring sections Alumni Connected, Roar, Lions at Rest, Class Notes, Literary Lincoln, and Lion in the Lens.

The spring edition is mailed in March; content is due January 15. The fall edition is mailed in September; content is due July 15.

Look for these recurring sections in every issue of the Lion magazine

Lions at Rest

Lincoln University honors our alumni, their immediate family, and current or former employees through Lions at Rest. Please email us at with the deceased’s full name and a link to the online obituary, if available. For alumni, include their graduation year. For employees, include their current or former Lincoln job title. For immediate family of alumni, include the alumni’s full name and graduation year, and the deceased’s relationship to the alumni.  

Literary Lincoln

Literary Lincoln is dedicated to honoring our Lion authors.


Show us your school spirit! This section is dedicated to showing how alumni give back, engage with the campus community, or show their pride for Lincoln. Send us photos of you —alumni— showing your support for your Lincoln community.

Class Notes

Send us your news for The Lion. In each edition of the Lion alumni magazine, we have a section called Class Notes. Do you have something exciting to report to your fellow alumni? Have you changed careers, been promoted, attained further education, retired or expanded your family?

Class Notes Publication Policy: Lincoln University accepts submissions of news and professional achievements or personal milestones for inclusion in the Class Notes section of the Lincoln Lion. Digital photos should be 300 dpi, JPG or TIFF format and at least 3x5 inches. The University reserves complete editorial rights to all content submitted for Class Notes, and posts and publishes listings as timely a fashion as possible, as space permits. Reasonable steps are taken to verify the accuracy of the information submitted, but the University cannot guarantee the accuracy of all submissions. Publication of achievement or milestones does not constitute endorsement by Lincoln University.


Lion in the Lens

Lion in the Lens is dedicated to achievements in film, television, on stage, in photography and more generally in the arts.

News, events, and a recap of activities from the Office of Alumni Relations.

Due to space limitations, not all content submitted to the Lion will be published. Submissions are subject to an editorial review process that may include length reduction, cropping or rejection of submitted material if it is unsuitable.

Want to serve as a contributing writer?

Those interested in writing for the Lion magazine should submit a query letter with their story idea and published writing samples, if available.  If no story idea, submit query (and writing samples, if available) for assignment consideration. The Lion does not offer payment for submissions.  The Lion will consider unsolicited manuscripts, but all decisions are at the discretion of the editor.
