Michael remained with HP for 15 years, the final ten years in senior management as Senior Manager of Human Resources and Total Quality Management. During his career at HP he served on numerous corporate HR and leadership tasks forces, and helped develop key best practices in management and college recruiting.
In May 1999, Michael was recruited by Cabot Corporation to be Global Director of Human Resources for Cabot's high-growth microelectronics materials business unit. By the end of 1999, the business unit was spun-off to form a separate and independent company, Cabot Microelectronics Corporation. Michael was promoted to Executive Vice President of Human Resources, and an Officer of the Company. In addition, he subsequently assumed global responsibility for the company's total quality management and customer intimacy programs. Cabot Microelectronics Corporation (CMC) became the world's leading supplier of microelectronic chip-polishing materials for chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) applications to the semiconductor industry. During the transition process, Michael served on a select executive team that planned and managed the initial public offering, and the eventual spinout of the microelectronics materials business to form CMC. In the process, he developed and established the new company's global human resources function, strategic planning process, and global total quality program.
In 2004, Michael returned to his home base in the Philadelphia/Wilmington area where he, with partners, formed The SEER Group LLC (TSG). TSG is a market research and organization effectiveness consulting company, which specializes in assessing the total customer experience and organizational effectiveness solutions. In 2007, he was recruited by Primavera Systems, Inc., which was headquartered in Bala Cynwyd, Pa., to the position of Vice President of Human Resources for the highly successful software development company. Michael served as a member of the executive team until the company's acquisition by Oracle Corporation, when he returned to The SEER Group in July 2009.
Michael possesses better than twenty-five years of leadership experience and accomplishments, within the computer, specialty chemical, electronic instruments, and semi-conductor industry segments. His talents in the areas of strategic planning, organization effectiveness, change management, process management, and global human resource management have been applied in large, small, and medium high-growth market leading organizations. His management and operational perspective is a customer-focused, results-oriented, approach to aligning strategic and operational processes, which result in high performance organizations that achieve effective and efficient business results.
He credits his organizational analytical ability to his years as a civil rights investigator with the EEOC, his graduate systems studies at Lincoln University, his business analysis studies at Harvard University, and the excellent senior management and leadership training he received while at HP.
Michael is a former Board member of the Minority Supplier Development Council of Pennsylvania, New Jersey & Delaware; former Chair of the Minority Business Enterprise Input Committee of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, and a long-time Professional Member of the Society for Human Resource Management.
