Entrepreneurship Mentor Dwight S. Taylor

Dwight S. Taylor is President of COPT Development and Construction Services, LLC, a division of Corporate Office Properties Trust (COPT). He directs and manages the company's design, development and construction activities. Dwight's responsibilities include identifying and capturing new development opportunities in submarkets that meet COPT's strategic objectives.

Dwight has more than 31 years of direct or related real estate experience including 14 with Constellation Real Estate and four with The Rouse Company. From 1977-1981, Dwight was Senior Vice President of the Baltimore Economic Development Corporation and had direct responsibility for all sales, leasing, financial and information services. He was also a Senior Consultant and Director of the Department of Area Development and Tourism for Checchi & Company, a Washington, D.C. based international consulting firm, from 1969-1977.

Dwight earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Lincoln University.

Dwight has been active with a number of local and regional organizations, including the Maryland Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), which recently awarded him a Lifetime Achievement Award. He also serves on NAIOP's national board. Dwight has been active with numerous civic and charitable organizations. He is a founding member of Associated Black Charities of Maryland, and currently serves on the Trustee Boards of the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute Foundation, Capitol College, and Lincoln University. He also serves on the Boards of Directors of Micros Systems, Inc., and the T. Rowe Price Group, Inc.
