Oswald H. Richards, PhD, MBA, MS, Chair
Dr. Richards is Chairman and Associate Professor in the Department of Business Administration on the main campus of Lincoln University in Lincoln, Pennsylvania. He is also Director of the Masters of Science in Administration program at the Graduate Center campus in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Prior to his transition to academia, Dr. Richards was employed as a senior banking and financial services executive at PNC Bank, PA.; Riggs National Bank, Washington, DC; Bank of America, MD.; and Legg Mason Wood Walker, MD.

Dr. Richards also worked as a management and information technology consultant with Bank of America/Keystone Consulting to install information technology systems (integrated smart cards) at 14 U.S. government agencies, including the Federal Reserve System, Commodity Futures Trading Commission, US Trade and Development Agency, National Credit Union Association, Overseas Private Investment Corporation, National Science Foundation, General Accounting Office, Office of Personnel Management, Federal Maritime Agency, and others.

Dr. Richards has broad corporate leadership and management expertise in Trust, investment management and brokerage industries; mergers and acquisitions; conversions and integration; management consulting; project management; job re-engineering; due diligence; product marketing; strategic management; information technology and systems analysis; computer programming; feasibility studies; corporate training and education/development programs; entrepreneurship; and workshop and seminar planning and execution. In addition, Dr. Richards has taught at the kindergarten, middle, and high school levels. 

As part of his mergers and acquisitions activity, Dr. Richards managed 10 bank conversions and integration that aggregated several billion dollars.  He has also lead and managed corporate departments that aggregated several billion dollars in assets.

Dr. Richards' research interests are in the areas of management, finance, information technology, international business education, and Latin American/Caribbean history. He is also multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary with broad interests in a variety of subjects.  Dr. Richards teaches courses in Investments and Finance, Strategic Management, Information Technology and Business Research. 

Dr. Richards has traveled extensively in the Caribbean, Europe, Latin America and the Pacific and has very strong academic and geopolitical interests in these regions.
Dr. Richards has an extensive background in information technology and computer programming. He holds a graduate banking diploma from the School for Bank Administration at the University of Wisconsin. He has earned the BS, MS, MBA degrees; and a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.  Dr. Richards also has completed advanced faculty development training at New York University, SAP Institute in Pennsylvania and other locations, and the New York Exchange.

Robert A. Allen, MBA
Mr. Allen has over 25 years of business experience, including financial operations and reporting, project management, sales and lecturing.

He received his Bachelor of Science at Lincoln University, PA and his Masters in Business Administration at Wilmington College, Delaware. Professor Allen is currently an assistant professor in the Business and Information Technology Department. He teaches classes on the main campus and at the Graduate Center in Philadelphia. Courses taught are: Organizational Behavior, Human Resources Management, Principles of Management, Leadership, Introduction to Business, Principles of Real Estate, Business Communication, and First-Year Experience.

Professor Allen is a licensed realtor in Delaware selling residential real estate since 2000 and achieving the Sales Award in 2003. Prior experience includes financial operations and reporting with JP Morgan Services in Newark, Delaware.

Professor Allen's community activities include are as follows:

  • Current board member and vice chair of the Expanded Branches Community Development Corporation.
  • Current active member and past president of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity graduate chapter in Wilmington, Delaware
  • Mentor for students with the Creative Mentoring Program in the Brandywine School District 2004-2006

L. Jay Burks, MBA
Mr. Burks is currently a part-time adjunct professor in the Department of Business and Information Technology. He is also the Executive Director of Delaware’s Office of Minority and Women Business Enterprise. Prior to his transition into academia in 2004, he was responsible for managing some of the world’s largest retailers which included implementing marketing and supply chain management strategies for Pillsbury, Energizer Battery Incorporated and Schick, a division of Energizer.

Mr. Burks also worked as the Director of Cheyney University’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Supportive Services Center. While in this position he researched, identified, implemented and developed strategies to increase the success of DBEs seeking business with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT).  He also developed successful grant proposals in excess of $500,000 from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and PennDOT,

Mr. Burks remains actively involved with the mission to increase economic development in Delaware.  He currently sits on the Governor’s Public Works and Procurement Opportunity Council and has developed strategic partnerships with the Small Business Administration, Small Business Development Center, Metropolitan Wilmington Urban League, Delaware Economic Development Office and other minority and women business organizations to increase supplier diversity with in State procurement.

Mr. Burks’ research interests focus on supplier diversity, management, alumni donations, college retention, recruitment and increasing graduation rates.

Mr. Burks earned his BS degree in business administration from Morehouse College, MBA from WP Carey’s School of Business at Arizona State University, and is currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore studying Organizational Leadership and Development.

William K. Dadson, PhD, MSBA, MIM
I received a BA in Advertising and an MSBA in Finance and Banking from Texas Tech University; an MA in International Economics, MIM in International Business Management, and a Ph.D. in International Economics from The University of Denver. Currently, I am a professor of Economics and Finance, Department of Economics and Business Administration, Lincoln University of Pennsylvania. I came to Lincoln University in 1989 from Morgan State University, Baltimore Maryland where three out of the four years I spent there served as the Chairman of the Department of Accounting and Finance.

From 1992 to 1998, then 2000 to 2003, I served as the Chairman of the Department of Economics and Business Administration of Lincoln University. From 1995 to 1997, I served as the Chairman of the Division of Social Science and Behavioral Studies at Lincoln University. During the same period, I was an Adjunct Professor/Consultant to the Wharton's Emerging Nations Executive Management Training Program. During the 1984 to 1985 academic year, I taught at the University of Southwestern Louisiana as an Assistant Professor of Economics and Finance.

In 1987, I was a Fulbright/Hays Scholar to Togo, Benin, and Sierra Leone. In 1996, the American Seminar Leaders Association certified me as a Seminar Leader. In 1997, I was cited as one of America's Leading Business Educators by SIFE. From 1998 to 2000, I was a Regional review member of the Academy of Education Department's National Security Study Abroad Student Selection Committee. I am a founding member of Global Awareness Society International, Nissan Fellow, Walton Fellow and a member of the Delaware Chamber of Commerce.

I was instrumental in the development of the Executive Management Program of the Center for Public Policy and Diplomacy in 1990. As the Associate Director for the training program, I supervised and managed the training of executives from Africa, the Middle East, the Caribbean, and Eastern Europe. Through my academic career, I have done a lot of work in the areas of privatization and Economic Management. Since 1999, however, the devastating impact of AIDS/HIV has added Economic Impact of AIDS/HIV to my research interest. I have attended several conferences and workshops on this subject during the past three years.

Deeawn Roundtree, MS
Ms. Roundtree is President of Professional Image Consultants, LLC and has provided extensive image and etiquette consulting to diverse groups of individuals who desire to improve their personal and professional image from the inside out.  She is the author of Beyond the Boardroom: Learn how to play and win at the game of corporate politics, which can be purchased online at www.virtualbookworm.com, www.amazon.com. or at www.barnesandnoble.com.

Her professional experience includes a successful pharmaceutical sales career for Johnson and Johnson where she won the coveted President’s Trophy with her colleagues ranking #1 in the nation and where she personally ranked #2 in the nation.  She is also a former Financial Services Consultant for American Express Financial Advisors and has obtained other professional sales and entrepreneurial experience throughout her career.  Currently, she is an adjunct professor at the historical Lincoln University teaching in the Business & Information Technology department..  

Her educational background includes a M.S. degree in Professional Leadership with a concentration in Training and Development and a B.S. degree in Business Management from Carlow University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  She is also a Certified Image Consultant with the internationally known London Image Institute and Etiquette Survival. 

Ms. Roundtree has conducted workshops for various companies and organizations such as the Philadelphia VA Medical Center, National Penn Bank, Bayada Nurses, Paserrelli’s Electric Company, The Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry, Career Link, Fordham University, Ramapao University, Century 21, Weichert Realtors, and other non-profit and for-profit organizations, just to name a few.  She also provides one-on-one consultations for your convenience.

Ms. Roundtree has been a featured guest on various radio and television talk shows in the country. She brings real-world experience and passion to her training workshops.  This is conveyed through her dynamic teaching style and easy-going personality.  This enables individuals to identify with her and motivates them to improve their own professional and personal image from the inside out. 
 
Empowering and motivating others to accomplish and succeed in achieving their personal and career goals by instilling the lessons and techniques she has learned, personally and professionally are her rewards.

Gary Schwartz, MS, MBA, CPA
Mr. Schwartz is a cum laude graduate of Temple University, where he majored in mathematics.  He later received a master's degree in sport administration from the University of Massachusetts and subsequently worked for the Philadelphia Bell of the World Football League.

Upon the demise of the WFL, Mr. Schwartz earned his MBA degree from Temple and then worked as an auditor for nearly four years for the CPA firm Stockton Bates and Company of Philadelphia.  During this time Mr. Schwartz passed the CPA exam and continues as a licensed CPA in Pennsylvania.  He then began his academic career as a full-time instructor of accounting at Temple and later at Drexel University, where he taught a variety of both undergraduate and graduate financial and managerial accounting courses.

More recently, Mr. Schwartz has worked as a data analyst and also has developed a theory-based, fully-automated stock market investment system, which currently is in the testing phase.  He is excited to return to teaching at Lincoln.

Harry Washington, MS
Mr. Washington has over 35 years experience in Information Technology, including as IT executive, IT strategist, consultant, and project manager.

He received his Bachelor of Arts from North Carolina Central University in Durham North Carolina and his Master of Science in Management Information Systems from Nova SouthEastern University in Fort Lauderdale Florida.  Professor Washington is a full time Assistant Professor in the Department of Business and Information Technology.  He teaches courses in Enterprise Resource Management, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, Project Management, E-Commerce and a host of other courses.  Professor Washington places special emphasize on the infusion of SAP (a Enterprise Resource Planning application used to run the businesses of many of the Fortune 1000 Companies).

Prior experience includes Director of Information Technology for Ciba-Geigy Corporation, Director of Information Technology for the City of Philadelphia Housing Development Corporation, Manager Sales and Marketing, Manager e-Commerce, and Manager of Project Management Office at Rohm and Haas Corporation.

Community activities include Cub Scouts, Steward and Treasurer of the Steward Board at Bethel AME Church, Wilmington, DE, Volunteer at Newark High School, and North Carolina Central University Alumni Association.
