Welcome to the Biology Department
201 Grim Hall, (484) 365-7508 or ext. 7508

The Biology Department offers undergraduate programs leading to the Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Biology, the Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science, and minors in Biology and Environmental Issues. In addition, there are pre-professional programs in Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, Nursing and Allied Health Professions.

The faculty members in the department have a broad range of expertise in biology and are involved in research in their respective fields. Our curriculum is designed to prepare students for graduate study, professional study or employment; it is based on a core of four courses followed by elective courses in biology that reflect the student’s career and personal interests. In addition to the traditional biology courses, students have the opportunity to participate in research through independent study in the department or through summer internship experiences. Biology is a very exciting and rapidly-changing field, and our goal is to have our students, in addition to acquiring a body of knowledge, share in the excitement of discovery. While we are one of the larger departments at Lincoln, we get to know our students well and encourage them to be active members of the Biology Department family.
