Schannon Gamble is entering her
first year as Volleyball coach and Academic Coordinator.
Gamble comes to Lincoln from North Carolina Central University where she
was the assistant volleyball coach and the administrative assistant to the
compliance director. As an assistant, Gamble helped the Eagles win three CIAA
Championships in 1999, 2004, 2005. Gamble was a part of the first bid into
the NCAA regional playoffs in 2004 for NCCU. North Carolina Central University
has been among the premiere volleyball teams in the Atlantic region of Division
II.
Her duties at NCCU included recruiting, handling team travel arrangements,
developing the volleyball team handbook and developing study programs for
student-athletes. Gamble was the head volleyball and track coach at the
North Carolina School of Science and Math in Durham.
Gamble earned a B.S. degree in Sports Management/Business from NCCU. Gamble
also has an Associate of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Hill College
in Hillsboro (Tx.). Gamble is a native of San Antonio by way of Chicago.
Gamble served as the fund-raising chair of the NCCU Physical Education
Recreation Majors Association. She is a member of the American Volleyball
Coaches Associaton.
