Director
Dr.
Virginia Smith is Director of the Multidisciplinary Center on
Aging at Lincoln University. Working in aging for twenty years,
ten years with the University of Pennsylvania's Rehabilitation and
Training Center as its training director; as Director of Research
at Mercy-Douglass Corporation, a community based health, housing
and human services organization providing an array of services to
older adults in the West Philadelphia; and Assistant Director of
the Planning Department at the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging.
Dr.
Smith is also an Assistant Professor in the Masters of Human Services
Program at Lincoln University. She teaches social science research
skills and integration of theory and human services practice.

Coordinator
of Training and Continuing Education
Mr.
Frank P. Worts is the coordinator of Training
and Continuing Education. He has over twenty years experience working
as a direct service worker, supervisor, administrator, trainer and
educator in aging programs. Since 1975, he has played a key role
in the development and implementation of three national demonstrations
projects specializing in the assessment, service planning, coordination
and service delivery issues associated with long term care, two
funded by the Administration on Aging and focused on the development
of case management, the third a Robert Wood Johnson National Demonstration
Project for the Health Impaired Elderly.
As
an Educator, Mr. Worts has taught Practice Skills, Social Systems,
Supervision, Staff Development, Personnel Management and Computer
Technology courses at the University of Pennsylvania, Lincoln and
Temple Universities.
