SCHOLARSHIP
OFFER REQUIREMENTS
This scholarship award is extended to you based on your scholastic achievements
and your desire to continue your education at Lincoln University. This
award is extended based on the “unofficial” information that you have provided
to a representative of Lincoln University’s Office of Admissions or independent
organizational designee. (1)
In order to convert this scholarship award, you must provide the University with
an “official” high school transcript that verifies your high school grade point
average. (2)
In order to convert this scholarship award, you must also provide the University
with an “official” copy of your Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or American College
Test (ACT) score report.
Both the high school grade point average and SAT or ACT score must be verified
and within the scholarship requirement ranges. Should the actual average
and score fall below the specific scholarship minimum, Lincoln University will
repeal the scholarship offer. (3)
In order to enroll at Lincoln University, scholarship recipients must: (A)
Complete the application for admission and provide all relevant documents,
and (B) File
a FAFSA (free Application for Federal Student Aid).
Should
an applicant be eligible for grant funding, the scholarship award amount will
be reduced accordingly. Should the scholarship recipient fail to complete both
(A) and (B) above, the scholarship offer will be repealed. (4)
The scholarship offer is renewable for subsequent academic years, in the
full original amount, if the recipient maintains a 3.5 cumulative grade point
average for all courses completed and: (A)
Has no “I’s” (incompletes) on his/her transcript, and (B)
Has earned at least 30 hours during the preceding fall and spring semesters
Summer
school work completed will not be computed in the cumulative average for scholarship
renewal purposes, and the maximum number of years for this scholarship award is
four years. (5)
Scholarship amounts may be revised in accordance with other funds received
(e.g. outside scholarships, tuition discounts, University private and endowed
scholarships, etc.) and will only be computed to meet “direct educational costs,”
and under no circumstances will it produce a credit balance. Students are responsible
for their own book, personal and transportation expenses. If a student receives
an outside scholarship specifically for books, the organization must state this
clearly in its letter and check to the University. (6)
After the first year of studies, scholarship recipients are not eligible
for merit awards also, unless they fail to maintain the cumulative 3.5 grade point
average required for maintenance of the scholarship. However, if the 3.5 cum
are not met, the scholarship will no longer be available or renewable, but if
the 3.0 or 3.3 standard were met for merit award amounts, students would be eligible
for the lesser amounts. At no time will students be awarded both scholarship
and merit award funds. (7)
Spring semester 21st Century, Presidential, and University scholarship
awardees will receive one semester’s scholarship award amounts, and be evaluated
for renewal status following the completion of the effective spring semester.
Hence, in order to continue the full award amount for the subsequent academic
year, they must have maintained a 3.5 cumulative grade point average during their
first semester at Lincoln. In subsequent years, their cumulative grade point
average will be assessed at the end of the effective academic year. (8)
Yearly cumulative grade point average assessments will be made in May only.
Summer school work completed will be computed in grade point averages, but only
taken into account during the following years’ assessment.
Should you have any questions regarding your scholarship offer, please don’t hesitate
to contact the Lincoln University Office of Admissions at 1-800-790-0191. I
look forward to meeting you and your family. RECIPIENT
CRITERIA (1)
In order to receive merit awards students must be (A)
Financially enrolled at Lincoln, and (B)
File a FAFSA (free Application for Federal Student Aid). Should
a recipient be eligible for grant funding, the scholarship award amount will be
reduced accordingly. Should the scholarship recipient fail to complete both
(A) and (B) above, the merit award will not be granted. (2)
The merit award is renewable for subsequent academic years, in the full
amount, if the recipient maintains the required cumulative grade point average
for all courses completed and: (A)
Has no “I’s” (incompletes) on his/her transcript, and (B)
Has earned at least 30 hours during the preceding fall and spring semesters (3)
Annual Cumulative Grade Point Average Assessments will be made in May for
those students having attempted at least 30 credit hours. Summer school work
completed will be computed in the cumulative average for merit award renewal purposes,
but only taken into account during the subsequent years’ assessment, not the current
year. (4)
Mid-year (December/January) Assessments of cumulative grade point averages will
only be made for those persons who have just met the 30 credit hour earned standard
with the inclusion of the fall semester courses. Hence, if a student begins during
a spring semester, no merit amount will be awarded for the completion of only
one semester, but after they have earned at least 30 credit hours with two semesters.
Under no circumstances will those students who have earned more than 30 credit
hours be eligible for Mid-year Assessment adjustments. Award amounts will only
be adjusted during the annual May review. (4)
The maximum number of years for merit awards is three years. (5)
Merit award amounts may be revised in accordance with other funds received
(e.g. outside scholarships, tuition discounts, Pell and SEOG grants, etc.) and

will it produce a credit balance. Students are responsible for their own book,
personal and transportation expenses.
