REPORT FROM THE PRESIDENT . . . . . . . .  Dr. Ivory V. Nelson convened the meeting at 4:06 PM and moved to the action items.

ACTION ITEMS

A. The Minutes from the January 10, 2006 Meeting were approved.

B. A motion to approve the ad-hoc committee report on The Lincoln University Board of Trustees Distinguished Faculty Awards was passed.

C. The Curriculum Committee recommended that the proposed new course ENG 490 Internship in Mass Communications and Journalism be approved. The body approved the Curriculum Committee’s recommendation.

D. The body approved the nomination of Dr. Safford from the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics to the Nominations Committee.

DISCUSSION ITEM

A. The body voted 31 to 18 to not discuss post-tenure review.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

A. Faculty Development Proposals may be submitted between March 1 and March 31, 2006 to Dr. Royer in the Biology Department.

B. Linda Susky of Middle States will try to meet with as many faculty as possible on April 4, 2006.

C. Lincoln University has teamed with KWY News Radio (1060 AM) as the sponsor of a series highlighting the achievements of African Americans in celebration of Black History Month.

D. The Office of Research Development, Planning and Coordination seeks proposals for undergraduate faculty and student research projects.

E. The School of Humanities will hold a Symposium on Love on February 14th Valentine’s Day.

Dr. Nelson adjourned the meeting at 4:40 PM.
